Last year a number of pupils from Ridgeway Academy were involved in an exciting project related to the history of Redditch. It was called ‘Redditch 1964 – the START of SOMETHING BIG’. This project was a celebration of memories of Redditch as it developed as a new town. The pupils produced a piece of drama work and performed it in front of an audience at Redditch Town Hall.
On Saturday the 4th of March, there is a follow on event being held at the Palace Theatre in Redditch. This will involve a performance of a new radio play, there will be a presentation by the Redditch Historical Society and there will be work on show from local schools – including Ridgeway. The mayor of Redditch will also be in attendance. This event will be happening between 11 am and 4 pm. It is free to enter and there will be refreshments provided. A flyer is attached giving further information. It would be lovely to see Ridgeway Academy pupils at this event celebrating the history of the local area.
