For our end of term reward celebrations, a trip for Y7, 8 and 9 pupils who have achieved the agreed amount of behaviour points by December 1st, has been arranged to watch one of a choice of 2 films at the Empire Cinema in Rubery. The films on offer are Paddington 2 (PG) and Thor: Ragnarok (12a). This trip will take place on the morning of Monday 18th December. The cinema may decide not to show one or more of these films if it is not financially viable and individuals may be asked to reselect. At this point, based on the recent survey with the pupils, both should be shown.
The total cost for the trip will be about £8.00 but this will not be finalised until we have confirmed numbers and the films are booked. Please do not attempt to pay any money now. Details will follow when numbers are confirmed. The cost will include:
- Return coach journey (Dudleys)
- Entrance Ticket
We will be leaving school at 9.00am and returning about by 1.00 pm. Pupils will be able to buy refreshments before the film starts. All pupils will need to bring a packed lunch to eat on our return to school.
Pupils will need to wear school uniform as usual.
Alternative provision will be made in school for pupils who do not wish to go to the cinema. Pupils staying in school can use the canteen for lunch as usual.
As a result of risk assessment analysis, pupils who cannot be relied upon to follow instructions will not be taken out of school. We will contact you if this may be the case for your child.
Please complete and return the form on the back of this letter by Tuesday 28th November to ensure that your child has the best possible chance of securing their choice of film. Once final numbers have been established and the film(s) have been booked you will receive a final letter asking for payment.
This really has been a fantastic trip for the KS3 pupils over the last few years and we are looking forward to this one being just as successful.
